Northrop Grumman’s a state-of-the-art Canberra office is an intricately designed, modern, high-security space. With custom floating ceilings, 10-meter-high Zone 4 partitions, an 8-meter-high mesh with steel structural support, and stringent security requirements, this fit-out provided a welcome challenge for Parliament Constructions.
Due to the ambitious nature of the design, many elements of the project had to be specifically designed and manufactured from scratch. The strict security and acoustic requirements required huge attention to detail from everyone in the team – estimators, foremen, project managers and tradesmen. Adding a short project timeframe into the equation meant we needed to think creatively and be confident in every decision.
Using a combination of our in-house resources, the strong partnerships we have with our manufacturers, and the innovation of our project managers, we managed to solve every problem we were presented with. In our workshop, we designed and built custom floating ceilings, using our CNC machine to help us create a feature cured aluminium shroud.
